Playboy Hires 2 Execs for New Tech, CRO Positions

LOS ANGELES — Playboy Enterprises Inc. has hired two executives for new corporate positions including chief revenue officer (CRO) and vice president of digital content.

Matthew Mastrangelo has been named CRO, and Cory Jones has been tapped for the top tech spot that will oversee Playboy.com, iPlayboy, Miss Social and the recently announced Playmates.com.

Mastrangelo comes to Playboy from SELF, Rolling Stone and Men's Journal and will take on the task of boosting revenue across print, digital and events.

"Matt brings with him a wealth of experience and success across multiple print and digital titles," said David Israel, president of media at Playboy.  "We will look for him to lead our sales force and closely collaborate with our creative and editorial teams as we continue to expand our digital media offerings, evolve the magazine and create one of a kind events for our partners."

Jones will oversee the company’s expanding digital portfolio. He joins the company from Mandatory.com, where he was editor-in-chief. He also had stints at Maxim and Defy Media.

"Cory is one of the most ingenious content creators in our business," said Jimmy Jellinek, chief content officer and editorial director. "As we refocus our digital strategy I can think of no better executive to have watching over our digital portfolio."
